Glen Osdale

We had a pleasant stay at Isle of Skye. We liked the location and the house was well cared for, with alot of facilities and comforts. It was also very cozy. We didn’t like the very thin curtains (very bright very early in the morning) nor the carpet in the bathroom/toilet due to cleanliness.

Entrance light didnt work, so arriving in the dark was interesting, we changed the bulb but a number still do not work and need replacing. The Kitchen is in a poor state of repair, extractor hood doesn’t work so windows need to be open all the time, door under the sink is hanging off, only 3 wine glasses for a house that can hold easily 6 people, no pint glasses at all, also oniy one 1 frying pan!! It states by the fire that wood is available in the outside box, this is incorrect. The house is comfortable and warm once we sorted out the heating, sadly WiFi was down for 3 days, we contacted IHC who contacted the owners but it still wasn’t working when we left.

Beautiful spacious home, very comfortable. Plenty of storage. Some good extras like family games. The kitchen is well stocked with all necessities. It was great to have use of a washing machine and dryer, but you need your own detergent (dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid are provided) It might be helpful to note the position of the two bathrooms- one is en-suite to the downstairs double room. It was a bit cold with a tiled floor and could do with a bit of tlc. The second bathroom was nicer, but situated next to the downstairs bedroom , so if you are in either of the twin upstairs rooms you have to come downstairs – so we needed to keep a light on throughout the night. Towels were lovely and soft. We stayed 3 nights, it was the perfect base to explore but get your provisions in Portree first! Would definitely want to come back.
