Florrie’s was named after the owner’s lovely grandmother & has been designed to be a luxury holiday experience for a couple. The large, upstairs living area, is a light, airy room with windows on two sides, & views across the bay, perfect for watching the famous Waternish sunsets. For cooler evenings or the winter months, the room has a lovely, old, green Morso log burner. Although compact, the kitchen has a dishwasher – vital on holidays, we believe. The Harris Tweed sofa and locally made tables add to the charm & character of this room.
Downstairs, there is a bright and airy bathroom with a spacious walk in shower & large bath. All the fittings are top of the range, in a classic design. The bedroom with its king sized bed, is another spacious room, although with a cosy feeling with its low ceiling. There is even another log burner in here, a bit of a treat in the winter months, although there is also an electric wall heater, if you prefer.
To the side of the house is off road parking. To the front, the garden has steps down to the beach, a large bench & a picnic table. This is a great spot for enjoying early evening drinks.
Stein is a conservation village, with a terrace of pretty, white washed houses and a jetty, all designed by Thomas Telford in the late eighteenth century. The views are far reaching, across the small islands in the bay to the Outer Hebrides beyond.
Waternish is in the north west of Skye & is still one of the quieter parts of the island, while being convenient for Dunvegan & Portree when shopping for provisions. More importantly, there are a number of other great restaurants & cafes in Dunvegan & nearby Edinbane.

Florrie’s is a very comfortable holiday home. A lovely bed, a beautiful bathroom, a comfortable sofa, a well-equipped kitchen, a beautiful view over the bay and also a garden. Very cosy!

We really enjoyed our stay in Florrie’s. It’s in a superb location by the Loch and beside the Stein Inn. We did have some settling in problems, but the owners were quick to sort those out. The kitchen/living room area and bathroom were thoughtfully and very well equipped.The bed was very comfortable.
