Cnoc a'Chonasg, Lyndale is a beautiful light and spacious holiday cottage. It has expansive views on three sides; looking out over the back of the Trotternish Ridge, to the Cuillin mountains and to the hills of Harris on the Western Isles. You can in theory watch the aurora borealis from the sofa, but it’s better to go outside!

Lyndale is an 8 mile drive away from Portree where you will find local shops, fuel stations, restaurants and cafes. In the opposite direction, Edinbane has two restaurants / pubs and there is the Skeabost House Hotel a short drive away.

On entering Cnoc a'Chonasg there is a spacious hallway with a utility area containing sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. Leading off to the right you enter the open plan living area with kitchen and dining areas. There is a dining table with four dining chairs, electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, Nespresso pod coffee machine and cafetiere. In the lounge there are two sofas, coffee table, T.V and bluetooth sound bar. There is also a log burner for added atmosphere on those colder evenings. The room is lovely and light with the full sized windows and patio doors. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

The property is highly insulated and benefits from an Air Source Heat Pump and Underfloor heating throughout, keeping it cosy all year.

There are two bedrooms; a double bedroom with double bed, two bedside tables each with a side lamp, a chair and a storage unit with drawers and clothes hanger. The other bedroom is a twin room with two single beds, a bedside table and with two side lamps, a chair and a storage unit with drawers and clothes hanger.

The bathroom has a W.C., wash hand basin and a walk in shower. The mirror is illuminated and there is a towel rail.

Outside, there is a patio from which to enjoy the views and there is parking for two vehicles. Cnoc a'Chonasg welcomes one well behaved dog.

We really enjoyed our stay for 12 days. Everything you may need was included, it was very comfortable. The wheather was too good to imagine, in fact it was warmer than expected. Unfortunately it was not possible to open the windows/door in the evening because of the midges and there was no insect screen available.

We had a brilliant time at Cnoc a’Chonasg, it was perfect for us as a family of 4 with our greyhound for an escape over the Christmas holidays. The cottage had everything we needed, including the most practical utility room/hallway of any cottage we have ever stayed in! It is in a brilliantly accessible location, which was ideal for us considering the weather – we were straight onto the main road which was useful given how snowy everywhere was, but the positioning of the house makes you forget the main road is there as soon as you turn off onto the side road. At midnight on NYE I stepped onto the patio to see if I could hear any celebrations or fireworks in Portree – absolute silence – perfect! Thank you for enabling us to have the best Christmas and New Year break we have ever had :-)

Cnoc a Chonasg is a lovely, comfortable, well equipped property. The under floor heating works well and we did not have to adjust thermostats or use the log burner. All the equipment worked well and my friend particularly enjoyed the Nespresso machine. The situation of the propety is well placed for travelling to all parts of the island – except maybe the Sleat area, maybe an hour plus of a journey. Although the proprerty is close to the main road from Portree to Dunvegan we were completly unaware of any traffic noise. It is a peaceful location with fine views.
