Orral Cottage, situated in the picturesque Bornestikaig, Kilmuir, offers an idyllic family holiday experience on the enchanting Isle of Skye. With breathtaking views extending over the sea towards the Western Isles and North Uist, the cottage is a wonderful place for family breaks. Surrounding the property is a spacious garden area, allowing guests to relish the serene natural beauty that characterises this remarkable location.
The cottage's proximity to local attractions enhances its appeal. Just a short distance away lie's the Museum of Island Life and the historic site of Flora Macdonald's grave. For those wishing to explore further afield, the ferry terminal to the Outer Isles is conveniently located just five miles away in Uig.
Upon entering Orral Cottage, guests are welcomed into a bright and inviting hallway that leads to the lounge area. This generously sized room features patio doors that open onto a charming decking area, complemented by large windows that fill the space with natural light while offering stunning views. Furnished with a comfortable couch, two chairs, a rocking chair, and a coffee table, the lounge provides a relaxation haven. A modern television, equipped with a diverse selection of the latest DVDs, and a log-burning stove add to the cosy ambiance.
In the hallway there is an accessible shower room with toilet and sink.
Adjacent to the lounge, the kitchen is well-appointed with modern amenities, including an oven, microwave, kettle, and sink area. Guests will appreciate the added luxury of a Nespresso machine (pods provided), a milk frother, and a toastie/panini maker.. The dining area, positioned at the front of the kitchen, features a spacious dining table with six chairs, alongside a rocking chair positioned by the window to take in the scenic views. Patio doors from the dining area lead directly to the decking, providing easy access to the outdoor space.
The first of three bedrooms is located at the end of the hallway. This twin bedroom boasts Egyptian cotton sheets, two single beds sharing a bedside table, a lamp, a chest of drawers, and a television with a DVD player. An en-suite bathroom accompanies this room, complete with a bath, overhead shower, toilet, and sink.
A staircase leads to the upper level, where a balcony area overlooks the lounge below, allowing ample light to filter through the property and providing magnificent sea views. Two additional bedrooms are located upstairs along with a family bathroom that includes a bath, walk-in shower, toilet, and sink.
The second bedroom features a king-sized bed adorned with Egyptian cotton sheets, accompanied by two bedside tables, lamps, a chest of drawers, and a mirrored wardrobe. A television with a DVD player and a bookcase filled with a selection of books add to the room’s charm.
The third bedroom is furnished with a double bed, also featuring Egyptian cotton sheets, two bedside tables, lamps, a chest of drawers, and a mirrored wardrobe. This room, too, is equipped with a television and DVD player, ensuring comfort and entertainment in every bedroom. All bedrooms come with a hairdryer for guest convenience.
There is BT high-speed fibre-optic broadband (150 Mb).
Outside, the property boasts a decking area two sun recliners, that wraps around the rear, offering a large grassy expanse perfect for family activities, complete with a picnic table for al fresco dining.
Sustainability is key at Orral Cottage, as hot water is provided via Ecocent Earth Save products, utilising an air source heat pump to convert ambient air into hot water storage. This efficient system uses just 1 kW of energy to generate up to 4 kW of hot water storage, catering to daily needs while being environmentally conscious.
Ample parking is available at the property for up to three vehicles. One pet welcome however, we kindly request that pets refrain from accessing furniture and furnishings, and that owners ensure any mess is tidied afterwards.

Beautiful location with stunning scenery. The house was very well presented and very clean. We very much appreciated the eggs etc.
Wish there was a dishwasher, which there was room for. The timer settings on the hot water hot water heating system need adjusting as we had a few cool showers at 7.30am.
