Finnan's Byre, Edinbane, is a stunning byre conversion on the edge of the crofting township. Newly renovated for 2022, Finnan's Byre captures the sea views of Loch Greshornish perfectly! This holiday cottage is just a short walk from the village centre where you will find the Edinbane Inn and Edinbane Lodge.

Finnan's Byre is accessed through the glass door that leads you into the lounge. There is a sofa to recline and watch the TV, as well as two arm chairs that let you gaze out of the picture window and watch the world go by.

The kitchen / diner has a sleek kitchen with appliances hidden away from sight. There is an induction hob, electric oven, microwave, large fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The double heigh ceiling gives a great sense of space and the skylight lets the light flood in. There is a dining table with two chairs, a woodburner and two armchairs to relax by the fire on. WiFi is available for guests to use.

The bedroom has a super king-sized bed (6ft by 6ft), bedside tables with side lights, dressing table with mirror and seat, a bespoke wardrobe and a door leading out onto the patio. The room has a double height ceiling and the stunning views look over to Loch Greshornish.

The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, W.C. and wash hand basin. It is lit with natural light from the skylight and the mirror is heated to minimise condensation.

Outside, there is parking to the side of the property. The paved patio runs along the front of the property and the planting of mature trees gives a sense of privacy.

Finnan’s Byre is everything you want from a holiday cottage, and is perfectly situated in the centre of the North of the island, so great for exploring all there is to see. (Bear in mind that it takes 75 minutes to get to the cottage from the Skye Bridge, so that needs to be factored in when exploring). Skye is stunning, and so is the cottage. Beautiful modern kitchen, and well equipped for cooking should you feel the need. Light and airy throughout, with great views of the loch from the bedroom and lounge windows. Enormous and extremely comfy bed and huge walk-in shower! Cosy and homely, with high quality furnishings and decor. Within walking distance of the Edinbane Inn, which does great food, and also Edinbane Lodge, which provides Michelin standard cuisine. Can recommend both of these, and also the Stein Inn which is a short drive away. There are further eateries in Dunvegan which is also a short drive away. Perfect spot for walking, particularly around the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing, and not forgetting Fairy Glen and Ewen’s Tower. It was a wonderful week, and we didn’t want to leave. We did however get rain every day, so take plenty of wet weather gear. You’ll need it!

We spent a very pleasant and relaxing week in this house, which is thoughtfully laid out, tastefully decorated, and lacks nothing (except perhaps a way to hang out laundry), all while boasting a fantastic location and view. We felt right at home from the very start.

Finnan’s Byre was in the perfect spot for us to enjoy our first visit to Isle of Skye. It is perfectly equipped with electricals and utensils (from TV, ovens, dishwasher, fridge & freezer, cutlery, etc..), everything was working great (best shower, great WIFI) and is nicely decorated and in great condition. We would not hesitate to book Finnan’s Byre again. The only thing we could not find was a location specific folder with instructions, e.g. for the end of the visit. But if the owners do not mind, than this is not a negative point from us either.
