From ‘Tigh Eoghainn’ there are panoramic views across Staffin Bay to the Trotternish Ridge and Staffin Island with the mainland mountains beyond. There is easy access to Staffin Bay from the cottage and the local shops are only a few minutes away.

As you enter Ewen's House, there is a small entrance vestibule ideal for hanging up your coats. The cosy lounge has a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, a TV, DVD player and CD player / radio.

The kitchen / dining room is well equipped with a washing machine / dryer, electric hob and oven, under counter fridge with ice compartment, microwave and a dining table and four chairs.

There are two bedrooms; one double and one twin. The family bathroom comprises of a W.C., wash hand basin and bath with an electric shower over.

There is private parking beside the cottage.

There is no Wi-Fi.

Pleasant cottage with lovely views in great location but could do with a bit of upgrading and simple fixes. New carpets had been laid in the bedrooms but the doors dragged on the new carpet – it should be a simple job to get a joiner to shave a small amount off the bottom of the doors. Kitchen was well equipped and reasonably spacious but could have done with one or two more units, which there was plenty of room for. The space in the living room for the dining table was very cramped – if the lamp from the opposite corner were moved and the couch shoved up against the wall, it would give a bit more space. Having said that, there were comfortable couches which were nice for relaxing in and admiring the view of the Quiraing. There was also a nice outdoor area with tables – unfortunately the weather was too poor for us to enjoy this.

We had everything we needed. The views of the Quiraing were definitely the highlight. It is in a nice location just outside of Staffin. As long as you are aware there is no wi-fi and only a tiny little freezer inside the fridge, the house has everything you need. We were really happy with the property and our stay there. We would definitely stay again.

Ewen’s House was beautifully clean when we arrived. It is very comfortable and well equipped, perfect for a few days in Skye, and an excellent base for doing the northerly stages of the Skye Trail.
