On walking up to the front door of the cottage, there is a beautiful Rowan tree providing year round interest and if folklore is to be believed protection from evil spirits too! It does also frame the sea view from the front door very well.
Upon entering the property, there is a utility area which also doubles up as a compact dining space with a large window offering guests the opportunity to breakfast and dinner with the Trotternish Ridge as a backdrop. A washing machine, coat hooks and boot trays for those muddy walking boots and sandy beach shoes have also been cleverly fitted into this area. From the utility you go through the very thick old walls into the main part of this old croft house, straight ahead of you is a very well equipped shower room with large walk in shower, basin unit with cupboards under and a toilet. A heated towel rail, large mirror and shaving point complete the room.
To your right is the well appointed bedroom with king size bed, fitted wardrobe and shelving area complete with long mirror and sockets. An iron, ironing board and clothes airer are also stored within this space. A window seat with throws and cushions thoughtfully provided, give guests the opportunity to admire the views. All linen and towels are provided.
To your left is the open plan living and kitchen room with a full height ceiling and roof windows flooding the space with light. A log burner provides cosy heat and ample logs are provided. A chair, footstool and sofa, along with a window seat give guests choices of seating. A basket of books and games is provided. Further entertainment is provided in the form of a flat screen television with free sat available. WI-FI is also provided.
The kitchen has an integrated fridge with icebox, a combination microwave with grill function and a hob. There is also a kettle, toaster and cafetiere for those leisurely breakfasts. The kitchen units contain all the equipment you’ll need to rustle up breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Outside there is a bench with a small table to take advantage of the views and provide a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset over the Quiraing of a Summer’s evening or indeed the Northern Lights on a cold Winter’s night.
