Upon entering the cottage, there is a generous utility area which houses a cupboard for coats, a washing machine and clothes airer. Trays have also been thoughtfully provided for those muddy boots after long scenic walks within the area. A door leads off into a small toilet cloakroom. The door to the left takes you through to the open plan dining and kitchen area where all modern conveniences have been provided, including an integrated oven, hob and dishwasher with a free standing fridge freezer and microwave. The kitchen is very well equipped within its drawers and cabinets. A kettle, toaster and cafetiere are also provided. There is seating for 4 guests at the dining table and a highchair is available for those younger guests.
Leading through from the dining area is the spacious sitting room with stunning views from both the large picture window and the patio doors. There is a cosy and comfortable window seat complete with cushions and sheepskin rugs under the picture window which provides guests with a lovely spot to watch wildlife from or read a book. The sitting room also has a large three seater leather sofa and a leather recliner chair. There is a flat screen television with free sat available and a cupboard with games and books tucked under the stairs. A log burner with ample logs available completes the sitting area.From the sitting room, guests can access the picnic area at the back of The Old Mill and from there a gate leads to the river which, if there is no livestock in the field, guests are very welcome to use.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms both with ensuite shower facilities and stunning views out towards the Trotternish Ridge. The bedroom on the left is the twin room with two beds, a chest of drawers and bedside cabinets with a bedroom chair to allow guests a space to sit and admire the views.
The bedroom on the right is the double room with a king size bed and bedside cabinets, a chest of drawers and again a chair for guests to sit and admire the views. Both ensuite shower rooms feature large showers with toilet and basin facilities and toiletry stands.
All linen and towels are provided and a travel cot (not linen) is also available.
At the top of the landing there is a seating area with a selection of books.
The views from all windows in The Old Mill are very beautiful and its position next to the river makes it a superb place from which to spot a variety of birds and wildlife from otters to sea eagles, herons to sparrow hawks.
