Balmeanach , North West Skye

Ruadh is a stunning four bedroom cottage located in Balmeanach, a small crofting community 5 miles between Struan and Dunvegan on the North West coast of Skye. It is an excellent base to enjoy what Skye has to offer and only 15 miles drive from Portree. With stunning, uninterrupted views of the Cuillin mountains and MacLeods Tables, Ruadh offers spacious, contemporary living with an eye to detail.

The lounge has a wood burner (wood is supplied), with a 65" inch smart TV with multi-room sky q, access to other apps and a blu-ray player. It is spacious with French doors that open to the front of the house and outdoor bench to enjoy the views. Two luxurious couches and modern fixtures, including fan with wall mounted remote. A special feature is the wall mounted world map where guests are encouraged to show where they are from.

The open dining area connects to the kitchen, lounge and snug. It can seat 8 people comfortably for sumptuous meals in! The kitchen is well appointed with a double oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge freezer (American style) and for coffee lovers there is a french press and espresso pod machine - Vertuo pods compatible.

The snug is a great area to unwind with a book or game whilst watching the clouds change shape across the sky above the Isle of Skye and the Cuillins.

All four bedrooms boast amazing views of the surrounding countryside and each have a king size bed. There is ample storage, dressing tables with mirrors, hairdryers, USB sockets and wall mounted 43" inch smart TVs in each bedroom. The master bedroom is located upstairs and has a shower en-suite. The other upstairs bedroom has a Jack and Jill bathroom with large bathtub. The other door leads to the hall. The two downstairs bedrooms share a shower room with walk-in shower, W.C. and wash hand basin. There is a single bed that can be added to bookings and permit a 9th guest to stay. The utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer for guests to use. There is also a whirly-gig outside.

Outside there are two decking areas, enjoying views of the surrounding countryside. The largest being accessible through French doors from the lounge and there is a wooden bench to the side from which to enjoy the views. The other deck is to the rear of the property and is a private space to relax and dine out.

The property is heated by a heat pump to zone controlled underfloor heating to the ground floor and to radiators on the upper floors.

There is private off road parking available next to the holiday cottage for up to 8 cars. A part of the garage is accessible for bike storage if required. There is a security camera at the garage for peace of mind.

Reduced occupancy: In the low season, there is a reduced occupancy rate for up to 4 guests using the two double bedrooms upstairs and the living areas on the ground floor. The additional two bedrooms will be locked during your stay.

Maximum Occupancy: There are four bedrooms sleeping 8 people in total. For the 9th person, there is a single bed that can be used within another bedroom or area within the house. This single bed is an additional extra of £75 that will be added to your booking. Guests may also add the single bed to their booking if they wish more beds than stated within the bedrooms, please just ask for it to be added when making the booking.
