Duirinish by Plockton, Lochalsh
On entering the Wing, there is an entrance room with hooks for jackets and space for muddy boots and a cloakroom with W.C. and wash hand basin. There is also an external drying room in one of the outbuildings that guests are welcome to use. The lounge has two generous and comfortable sofas creating a cosy and relaxing space. There is a flatscreen TV and DVD player for evening entertainment. There is also WiFi available throughout the property and a mobile phone signal booster box so mobiles using Vodaphone and O2 can get full reception.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric hob and oven, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The dining table can seat four people and is perfect for relaxed family meals. Doors lead onto a secluded patio with superb views over the gardens towards the Bealach na Ba and the Applecross peninsula. There is outdoor furniture, perfect for dining outdoors in the evenings and a gas BBQ that can be used.
Upstairs, there is a boutique double bedroom and two single bedrooms, all with built in wardrobes. The shower room has a large walk in shower, W.C. and wash hand basin.
There are outbuildings to the side of Duirinish Lodge. One is a games room complete with pool table and perfect for evening entertainment whilst the other outbuilding provides a drying room for damp outdoor wear. There is ample parking for guest' vehicles by the main entrance.
Within the 18 acres of gardens and private woodlands there are paths leading you to the summerhouse, ponds with fountain and woodens seats from which to enjoy the views - perfect for lazy day adventures. There is an organic vegetable and fruit garden with raised beds and greenhouses containing seasonal fruit and vegetables. Produce likely to be available this summer include lettuces, tomatoes, courgettes, potatoes, leeks, brussel sprouts, onions, carrots, turnips, cabbages, salad onions, rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, apples, pears, plums and more! Guests are welcome to pick ripened fruit and vegetables from the garden during their stay.
The village of Plockton with local pubs and restaurants providing excellent local cuisine and live traditional music is just 2 miles away. Boats can be hired as well as kayaks to explore the coastline, or perhaps enjoy the local paths that will take you along the shore to see evidence of otters.
