Torrin, South Skye
After a day on the hills or exploring the Isle of Skye, the cosy lounge has a wood burning stove to relax in front of while you read a book, do a jigsaw or play one of the many games that are provided. The holiday cottage offers the chance to completely switch off as peace and quiet are promised because there is no TV due to poor reception and mobile phones do not work in the Torrin area – however a radio and CD player are provided along with a range of CDs, comfortable settees and chairs - it is a wonderful chance to rediscover conversation!
This holiday home has been tastefully refurbished and modernized and yet still retains much of its original charm. There is a garden surrounding the house with a picnic table for outdoor dining and a private parking area beside the cottage. The holiday cottage is double glazed with an electric heating system and the wood burning stove.
The kitchen is very well equipped with electric oven and 4 ring hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer and microwave. The dining table seats 6 people.
Downstairs the modern bathroom has a wash hand basin, W.C. and bath with shower over.
Upstairs, 1/2 of 17 Torrin offers sleeping accommodation for up to a maximum of 5 people. It has three bedrooms; one double, one twin and one single. In case a guest prefers to sleep downstairs, there is a sofa bed in the lounge. Please request this at time of booking the holiday cottage.
As a traditional holiday cottage, the stairs are steep and care should be taken. There are stair gates provided at the top and bottom of the stairs for safety and for those unable to use the stairs, there is a sofa bed in the lounge downstairs.
Note: 1/2 of 17 Torrin is currently having its ground floor reconfigured and extended and the heating upgraded. The work should be ready by April 2023. It will then offer a downstairs bedroom that will better suit those who find the stairs awkward, as well as a new kitchen cum extended living room. The bathroom will be reconfigured also to create more space with a large walk in shower rather than a bath / shower. 1/2 of 17Torrin will still sleep a maximum of 5 people plus baby.
