There are several great reasons to select 10 Husabost as your vacation home and destination:
The house
The garden and outdoor living
The Croft
The views
The location.

The house, completed in 2021, is exceptionally well equipped and appointed so that your stay is easy, comfortable and fun. Each of the three bedrooms is ensuite and has luxurious Villeroy & Boch plumbing, great showers (one bath) and top quality beds and bedding (two kings, with two singles in the third bedroom). Organic cotton bedding and towels. Eco-smart but luxurious.

The property is entered through the entrance porch where coat hooks await damp jackets and there is ample space for outdoor footwear to be left behind. The utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer is next door, whilst the hallway leads off into the heart of the home; the spacious open plan living / dining / kitchen area. With large windows on three walls, the room is light and open. Through each window the views can be enjoyed. On wet days, from the comfort of an armchair. On warm sunny days, patio doors can be opened.

The kitchen is very well equipped if you decide to cook or bake. It is framed by a Bisazza tile mosaic backsplash that captures, in Fair Isle sweater fashion, the key natural elements of mountain, sea, snow and deer. The main table readily accommodates 6, 8 if extended. The sitting area looks out over the garden and orchard, and beyond to the Cuillins, Macleod’s Tables, and the loch. There is one bedroom on the ground floor (king) and two on the first floor (one king, one with two single beds). 4 Vellux skylights let in lots of light and frame the views. There's also an exercise area and printer on the first floor.

The garden has a lawn and a paved patio area with a portable Morso fire pit/pizza oven to enjoy the long summer evenings and toast marshmallows on. Plus a Solo fire pit for cooler nights. There is an ample outdoor table and chairs (seats six). There is private parking for up to three vehicles and an electric car charger for guests to use. The whole property is wrapped around by a beautifully constructed dry stone wall. The garden itself features native plantings, heaths and heathers and fruit trees and is criss-crossed with paths for easy exploration and enjoyment.

The Croft, which you are welcome to explore, has four main subareas. There is an orchard of 300 trees, largely Scottish heritage apples, but also pears, plums. damsons and quinces. Across the road towards the loch are fields for soft fruits and a nut orchard (another 300 trees). Beyond this, a forest of 4000 trees is starting, with a broad selection of native deciduous trees and a pond. There is a walkway that leads you through this forest down to the fourth area, a preserved original birch and rowan rainforest that hugs the shore of the loch, which is carpeted with bluebells and ferns in season. Take care not to disturb this amazing resource.

Everywhere on the property there are spectacular views. To the north lies Harris,12 miles away. Across the loch is beautiful Waternish, and Dunvegan Castle. To the south and east the Tables and the glorious Cuillin range provide ever changing vistas with rainbows, clouds and mists, or glorious sun.

10 Husabost is located near Colbost and shops and restaurants in Glendale (2 miles) and Dunvegan (6 miles), it is ideal for those looking to frequent The Three Chimneys restaurant (booking recommended) as well as exploring Waterstein, Neist Point and the rest of the Isle of Skye. Portree and Broadford are both 45 minutes drive through gorgeous scenery.

We had the most wonderful time in this house. The attention to detail is incredible and it really is the most comfortable & luxurious place to stay. Underfloor heating on a frosty Christmas morning was greatly appreciated! The views are spectacular and we sat each morning looking at the Skye change colour behind the Cuillins before we were blinded by the sunrise! The home was impeccably clean and full of extra surprises such as a spice drawer. It had been decorated so tastefully for our arrival with a Christmas wreath; gorgeous trees & thoughtful gifts. The house is huge but cosy at the same time. Everything is top quality from the bed linen to the bathroom fixtures. This is our second visit and we cannot recommend this home enough. It really is perfect & we appreciated being able to spend Christmas here – feeling at home.

We loved the place and the house. We would like to be there longer than four days. It’s in middle of beautiful countryside with lot of sheeps. Arrival information and road signs made it easy to find. The house was in excellent shape and as a new. Very good rooms with perfect beds, temperature good, air inside fresh (not windy despite the heavy wind outside) and bathrooms clean and showers worked perfectly. Kitchen was very well equipped and we missed nothing. Gym equipment was also in use.
