Booking with Confidence
Islands & Highlands Cottages would just like to thank everyone who has worked with us over the last twelve months. It has been a difficult time and there is not one of us that has not been affected. However, it is thanks to you that Skye and Lochalsh had as a successful season as it did last year. Local businesses were quick to adapt and everyone followed the rules and guidance given out. So thank you!
As we look forward toward this summer season, there is still some uncertainty as to when self-catering in Scotland can fully open and what restrictions will be in place. However, please be assured that when you book directly with Islands & Highlands Cottages we will try to be flexible as we can, working with you to find a solution. By booking direct you are contacting local people who know the area and the properties. Together, we can create the holidays and the memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.
Before booking your holiday, just make sure the holiday cottage that you choose is what you are looking for. They come in all shapes and sizes so you will find the right one for you!
Be aware of where you can find the latest information on restrictions from the UK Government and Scottish Government websites, so you can make sure your party still complies at the time of your stay. If you are in any doubt, please just contact us and we can try to help or point you in the right direction.
Make sure the Isle of Skye and Lochalsh is the right place for you. It has dramatic landscapes with fantastic walks, vertigo inducing peaks for the mountaineers, villages and towns with local craft shops, cafes and restaurants.
Each part of Skye and the mainland in and around Lochalsh, has it’s own identity and attractions. And each area is worth taking your time to explore. For example, the waterfalls above are on the Coire Lair and Easan Dorcha Circuit, located just a 30 min drive from Lochalsh. Whilst the ruined house below is at Suisnish, a clearance village on the coastline by Torrin which makes a glorious day out with views of Rum and Eigg in the distance and Blaven dominating the skyline. These are just two of our favourite walks … there are a lot more!
As time goes by and restrictions change, Islands & Highlands Cottages will try to contact all bookings that may be affected by the changes. However, if you have any questions, please do just get in touch.
If your booking with us is impacted by restrictions and we could not legally allow the holiday to go ahead, we will offer a choice of options; credit note to use at a later date, move the dates of your stay, or a refund of the rental portion of your booking.
We look forward to welcoming you to Skye and Lochalsh once more, and we hope we all have an equally, if not more, successful season this year.
